bnm - Wasn't it you who said it had been confirmed that Larsson was out for the rest of the season a week or so ago?

I've just googled 'Bulgaria v Finland report' and read 2 match reports with no mention of any injuries. The Forse was subbed in the 61st minute.

According to McLeish Larsson has medial ligament damage and has got to have a scan tomorrow.
Butt deliberately hacked at him at knee height from behind - no doubt in retaliation for the shoulder barge that took him off the pitch a few minutes earlier - and didn't even get booked for it.
When you see the two players get sent off in the Portsmouth/Vile match for their "offences" and then see no card at all for something like this I despair!

Anyway - I hope Larsson isn't seriously injured but if he does have ligament damage that could be the end of his season. All the best Seb.

Ye i said that at the time that it was blatent retalliation from Butt for the shoulder barge into the dugout. He had no intention of winning the ball. Nicky Butt, you helped get us relegated once now you've done it again injuring our most instrumental player

Seriously though, without Larrson we should be very worried indeed

Butt went in for every tackle tonight with his studs showing, how he got away with it i'll never know!!

To me, it seems Larsson, and McFadden were identified as our key players by Newcastle and they deliberately hacked away at them every time.

McFadden was fouled everytime he got on the ball, and Larsson was just kicked out of the game, there tactics of injuring him worked and we lost a lot of impetus down our right flank.

I hope hes fine but ligament damage sounds like bad news ... but will McLeish bring De Ridder back in??

SSN are saying there is some bad news on the injury front for Blues with Seb having Medial Ligament damage. What amazes me after all the fuss about Eduardo are not even mentioning such a diabolical deliberate vicious challenge

that was a definate red for retaliating on an earlier chalenge from larsson on the touch line sending buttocks into the dug out.

one could say it was poetic justice for larsson after fouling buttocks but not even a free kick being given but i cant see that myself as it was more the speed of buttocks sending him flying that the actual push by larsson.

so this was nothing but a blatant attack on larsson (take note mr blatter) because buttocks got a bit dirty and now one of the best players in theprem will spend weeks on the treatment table because a player that was once called one of the best and is now one of the worst got jelouse.

the FA should look at this and penalise buttocks and also bring web to book over it for failing to do his job.

wont happen though.

It was a bad challenge but i didn't think it looked like more than a 'dead leg' type challenge. Butt was awful. What was interesting to note was that before that a Newcastle player (Martins?) went over the top of the ball or round the side and stamped on Larsson (?) ankle in the same way that Taylor did a few weeks past. I didn't think it deserved anything like what Taylor got but it did go to show that it's luck of the draw when it comes to being tackled badly.

Yes, Chelsea at home when we drew 0-0 he was a collossus.

Last night it was a bad challenge and a yellow card should have been given but there's no point crying over spilled milk. We're not Arsenal, let's not allow our season to be defined by one tackle. Get well soon Seb.

While Larsson was receiving treatment fro the injury the ref spoke to Butt and pointed to a number of places on the pitch where Butt had attacked Larsson. Why he failed to produce a card at that point is beyond me.

Butt is a cheat.

Keegan stands no chance against that level of disrespect. Martins totally blanked Keegan when he went off too.

But should receive a 3 game ban for deliberately injuring Larsson but there's no way that'll happen.

Just been confirmed he's out for the rest of the season and may miss the Euros.

Massive blow for us and for him personally. He has been immense for us since the turn of the year and was the real driving force for the team. I was only saying last night to an Everton friend of mine that we would be lucky to keep hold of him during the summer.

De Ridder now? Jonty out wide with Nafti coming in? I honestly don't know, I think we need a creative outlet, but just how good defensively is De Ridder?

Best of luck Seb. Get the rest you need, have a good summer building your knee back up and come back roaring for us next season...in the Prem.

Nicky Butt should be punished for this. he deliberately set out to stop the player by hurting him.

The FA should look at this but no doubt the referee hasn't said anything in his report to prompt the FA into action.

Think Martin Taylor on Eduardo, in pretty much the same spot on the same pitch three weeks ago. Then stop whining like an Arsenal fan.

Yes, Chelsea at home when we drew 0-0 he was a collossus.

This DeRidder had better be good, because I have no evidence of it yet. Hurry back Kapo!

Then stop whining like an Arsenal fan.

bnm - Wasn't it you who said it had been confirmed that Larsson was out for the rest of the season a week or so ago?

SSN are saying there is some bad news on the injury front for Blues with Seb having Medial Ligament damage. What amazes me after all the fuss about Eduardo are not even mentioning such a diabolical deliberate vicious challenge

those two were having a go at each other all night and the ref didn't get hold of the siduation. The inconsistancy of refs in the game beggers beliefe.

Knee ligament damage is a long slippery slope to being injured frequently. Lets hope its not serious.

I suppose the only thing that might suggest otherwise is that he was walking around afterwards. Hope it's not too long because when he went off we lacked any creativity from either wing.

that was a definate red for retaliating on an earlier chalenge from larsson on the touch line sending buttocks into the dug out.

one could say it was poetic justice for larsson after fouling buttocks but not even a free kick being given but i cant see that myself as it was more the speed of buttocks sending him flying that the actual push by larsson.

so this was nothing but a blatant attack on larsson (take note mr blatter) because buttocks got a bit dirty and now one of the best players in theprem will spend weeks on the treatment table because a player that was once called one of the best and is now one of the worst got jelouse.

the FA should look at this and penalise buttocks and also bring web to book over it for failing to do his job.

wont happen though.

Think Martin Taylor on Eduardo, in pretty much the same spot on the same pitch three weeks ago. Then stop whining like an Arsenal fan.

bnm - Wasn't it you who said it had been confirmed that Larsson was out for the rest of the season a week or so ago?

I've just googled 'Bulgaria v Finland report' and read 2 match reports with no mention of any injuries.  The Forse was subbed in the 61st minute.

NO it was not and you will need to apologise for infering things. you can google what you want mate he went off in the 61st min with a injury he limped off according to Radio wm.

A link to that thread would of done! :o

I'm big enough to apologise... sorry.

But I still have not heard or read anything about an injury yet?

Fingers crossed eh?

Zarate and O'Connor might have a decent chemistry i think (if the story is true)

NaOH + HCl = NaCl + H20 is decent chemistry.

What amazes me after all the fuss about Eduardo are not even mentioning such a diabolical deliberate vicious challenge

those two were having a go at each other all night and the ref didn't get hold of the siduation.

No, he is not injured. Finland has new manager and he just want to see other strikers on the pitch in the end of the game.
